Cannot set Zone properly

I have tried to edit the default zone to exclude cars from triggering my video doorbell. but the damned thing is still set off by any car passing through. This is the Wired Doorbell, I had a battery version before but since the battery died any time the temperature dropped, I threw it in the garbage (I live in Pennsylvania, and cold weather is a fact of life). The point is that I have done this before, and it worked, meaning that I know what to do. It simply doesn't want to work this time. The unit is brand new and recently set up - yesterday, in fact. It updated after the setup, and my phone app is also updated. I am using Pixel 7 Pro. Any ideas on what else I can try? Thanks.
