Spotlight cam battery-not-recognized issue

I see this issue has been posted online many times since 2019 with no resolution. The problem is that a new battery is added, the camera or app does not see it ... or it sees it one moment then not the next moment. The official answers are be sure it's charged and clean. Futz around buttons on the app, reboot. None of this works and has not worked or been fixed for years. My question is how have folks dealt with this problem? Sent everything back because it's broken? Just trust that the battery will work? Something else?

    Hi @user_397b17. Yes, the main troubleshooting steps available for this are to ensure the battery hatch is clean and clear of any debris, and to ensure both fully charged batteries are properly inserted. Rebooting the Spotlight Cam also forces the Device Health page to update, which should reflect the current battery status. If you've tried all these steps, and the Device Health page still doesn't properly recognize the batteries, the next step would be to contact our support team to take a closer look.
