Charged and cancelled?

I paid for the year for service. Was continuously charged what would have been the monthly fee every month too! Then they cancelled my plan and refunded what I paid. I wasn’t supposed to be charged monthly fees anyways!! Now footage I needed is gone?! Why can’t I get the footage and why is a it my loss?!
