Badge number missing on dashboard
troubleshooting
app-request

I'm still getting push notifications when there is motion BUT when I open the app, there are no badge numbers on the cameras where there was motion ( i am not clicking on the push notifications) . Before there would be a red circle with a number indicating how many unopened/ unwatched videos there where for that camera. It's been a week now. Will there be a fix?

Hi @user_9743b9. Our team is aware of this change. At Ring, we are continually releasing new features and functionality based on customer feedback. The “Unseen Events Counter” was recently updated. Your feedback will be shared with our product team. We appreciate your input and your loyalty as a Ring customer.

Is this getting fixed? Or was the feature taken away?

Same issue here. Can we please get an answer as to whether this issue will be fixed? This makes the dashboard almost useless. It seems to be a feature flag that’s been set for only some users. Not sure what the logic behind this is.

Please put the "Unseen Events Counter" feature back! This was a very useful thing. Why would you remove it?!?

Please fix this soon! I monitor 3 locations with 26 cameras in total. The unseen event counter badges lets me know quickly where I need to review new motion notifications.

Yes, same issue here.  First noticed this (I think) on 5.79.0.  Having these event badges missing is really annoying.  As others have said, it makes the dashboard pretty useless.  We can still see new events by tapping the 'History' button at the top of the app, but that adds a step and gives you a long list of events to scroll through. Please bring the badge feature back ASAP.  Until now, most of the Ring app functionality has been useful and intuitive.  Having this feature missing is the exact opposite of these two aspects.

Absolutely HORRIBLE update.   Seriously considering moving to another product.   Badge counters are CRITICAL to rapidly identifying where events have occurred instead of scrolling through history.   And while you're at it, the LIGHT ON notification icon is now totally different, in a different spot, and not colored yellow for easy identification. Do you folks at RING even bother to talk to customers before making these kinds of changes?   If so you need to find a different focus group.... Again, HORRIBLE update!!!!
