The sensor is at the height of 5 feet. There are no windows or heat source around it. It does not detect my dog too in the hall. When I enter the room, I have to go to the center of the hall to get detected.

MMounting at 5 feet should not be too much of a concern, however, we do recommend mounting this between 6 and 8 feet. Check out the installation video for Motion Detectors in our [help center article](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005178546-Getting-Started-Placing-Sensors-and-Motion-Detectors), which will cover height, placement, and angle. If 5 feet is not doing the trick, try raising it a little bit higher, as well as try altering motion sensitivity in the Ring app. Keep in mind that a pet might not setup off your motion, due to size, but a human definitely should. There is also an idol time between each motion captured, so it is best to test for a few minutes to give it time to notify. Feel free to also test your motion while your system is armed, but remember to use an entry delay for this test so you do not trigger a false alarm! Feel free to let us know how it goes! :)

Hi @sushantsha! The best thing to check here is mounting height. We recommend mounting around 7 feet high for best range of detection. Please also ensure there are not windows or heat sources in the area, that might interfere with motion sensors. I hope this helps! :)
