Keypad (2nd Gen) not light up when motion is sensed

I installed 2 keypads. Both have exactly same set up. Power saving off. One keypad lights up (numeric keys and mode) when I walk up. The other only lights up the mode button. I could not figure out why the difference. Is lighting a factor?
