Ring Chime Online but Not Ringing

I have both an older Ring chime and an older Ring Chime. Often neither chime, though they both indicate solid blue and the app shows they are online. The phone app does ring. The only solution is to unplug the chime and plug back in. Then it works for days or weeks, then stops again. What is the problem and solution?
