Ring 2 step verification bypass

How do i get 2 step verification bypassed as was previously available?  This mandatory feature of a 2 step verification is not convenient for me.  I would rather be able to have a pin number as before.  This has caused me to not be able to silence the alarm in time if I don't have access to my phone.  Ring is getting less customer service oriented.  If this continues and causes us to have to pay false alarm fees I could see customers filing suit.
