Why can't we subscribe to the Ring Status page?

There used to be an option to subscribe to the status page. But it never worked. I just looked now and it's option is gone. Having a subscription to that page and posts would solve a lot of posting asking what's wrong. This morning there were issues. If people received an email with the Status posts, no one would ask why so and so isn't working. This would save time for the mods moving and merging threads and from people being upset. I hope this can be turned on...
