Setting up a ring 2

Hi, I received a ring video doorbell 2 with the purchase of a house. When I tried to set it up on my account, I was told that the people who sold the house and doorbell to me were still the owners of the doorbell and I needed them to deactivate the account. This can take up to 15 days. How do I make it go faster than this? And if you’re selling the camera with the house, why don’t you also deactivate it from your account as soon as you move?Thank you and have a great day!
