Amazon Alexa + Ring
Turning on/off motion alerts using an Alexa routine.
I've been trying to find a way using a third party app, such as IFTTT or SmarThings, to create a routine in Alexa that will stop motion alerts on my 3 Ring cameras. I know I can switch my alarm mode to "Disarmed" and set my cameras not to send motion alerts in that mode, but that doesn't solve my problem. Typically, when my alarm is "Disarmed" I still want to get the camera alerts, but there a times I want to silence them, like when my kids are outside playing in the yard. I know I cannot set up an Alexa routine to directly do this, but there must be some kind of workaround. Thanks, in advance, for any help you can give!

Hi @jkonnyck. To clarify, you cannot control notifications with Modes. You can control whether motion is detected on a specific camera in each Mode, but notifications are separate from this. To achieve what you're describing, you can leave motion detection on in every Mode, and use Motion Snooze when you don't want to receive motion alerts. To snooze alerts on one camera, tap the Alerts Snooze tile on that specific device and select the snooze duration. To snooze alerts on all cameras, tap the moon icon in the top right of the Ring app dashboard and select the snooze duration.
