Vera controller and ring motion alerts

I have a Vera controller which is used for my smart lights, I have the latest ring doorbell connected to transformer and since setting up the motion alert to switch light on there is a delay of up to 50 seconds, can you explain, if this is due to the fact the doorbell is connected over WiFi, would I have the same delay with a hardwired ring stickup elite camera as I would like my lights to come on instantly upon motion
