Ring Spotlight Camera banned by HOA

My HOA in Ashburn VA required me to remove my SPoltlight Camera that was only set to turn on within 6 feet of my front door and was pointed and my stoop only. We have had cars broken into. Children assualted in the neighborhood and now without any recording device the safety and security in now even worse. How can I fight an HOA when their only criteria is Style and Scale. What do those two words actually mean. I checked about 50 homes and none matched style color or even each other. What can I do without driling multiple holes in my exterior to run cameras out of my windows.
