Ring Solar Floodlight always shows 0% battery

I have a brand-new Ring Solar Floodlight. I fully charged the battery, installed it, then set up the floodlight with the Ring bridge. In device health, the battery always shows at 0%. This has been true for weeks. Uninstalling the bridge and the floodlight from the Ring app and then reinstalling doesn't help. How do I get this to work?

      Swap your battery to the other battery compartment. One compartment is battery 1, the other is battery 2. If there is no battery in 1, it works but the stats will show zero
