Ring bulbs with physical switches
Apologies if this has been asked, but I couldn't find an answer. I have a downstairs media room with three lights on a dual switch setup. One light is at the top of the stairs and two are the ceiling mounted lights for the main room. Switches are at the top and bottom of the stairs (each switch turns all three lights on or off). The problem is that sometimes we want to turn off our dim the lights while watching TV, but the light on the stairs should stay on in case anyone needs to go up or come down the stairs. My thought was to use ring bulbs in the ceiling lights so that we can adjust those when needed without causing a safety issue on the stairs. Ideally, these lights would still be controlled by the switches most of the time, but the downstairs lights controlled by app or Alexa when needed. The issue is that my elderly mother lives in the same house and there is no way that she'll be able to use app or voice commands to turn on lights when she needs to come downstairs. Can the Ring bulbs be used this way, if they don't need to have any automation? Or will they give error messages when they lose power? Currently unemployed, so trying to figure out a solution with what I already have. Thanks in advance!
