Is a Ring Floodlight usable as just a motion sensor light?

I currently have a Wired Cam Floodlight above my garage and a doorbell at the front door.  I have an older motion sensor light (non-Ring) above the front door that I'd like to replace.   I'm reading various reports so hoping to get an answer here.Will the Ring light just work as a simple motion sensor light like my older non-Ring one does.  Basic motion/light/on/off etc... Or is it useless, not functional at all without a Hub/Bridge of some sort that I could add later.
