12V dimmer compatible with ring smart transformer?

Newbie question…  I use a ring smart transformer to power outdoor led strip light embedded in some stairs. The light is too bright and flickers a tiny bit.  i am guessing dimming a little bit will do the trick but unsure which dimmer to buy. Needs to be outdoor rated; does not need to be “smart” since I intend to set level once and not change it. I read that I need a magnetic (vs electronic) dimmer…. Any recommendations, please?
