Modes function is being removed from the App on the 7th September!!
app-request

An update to your app. "Starting 7 September 2024, the Modes button will no longer appear on your Ring app home screen. You can still access and adjust your individual camera Motion Schedules, Smart Alerts, and Privacy Settings from your device settings in the Ring app. Please see below for instructions on how to find the same features." Did anyone else get this email? I have lots of camera and depend on the mode to turn of areas when the kids are in the garden or doing things at the front of the house. The batteries get drained if i don't turn them off. Without the modes function i will have to turn each camera on and off one at a time which is a nightmare.

Hi @user_52abed. I was able to find this post where another neighbor shared a similar concern. There is a marked solution with clarification on the change being made.

I didn't  get the email and only discovered today that the modes feature is no longer available as of September 7, 2024. My basic contract runs until November 8, 2024 and wonder how they're allowed to remove a feature I paid for before my subscription expires in November.

just spent 20 minutes with a Ring support supervisor expressing my frustration and disappointment with the modes features being removed from the basic plan. This was an important feature unilaterally remove by Ring.  In addition, I paid for a 1 yr basic subscription which included this feature.  Now it’s no longer part of the basic plan.  Corporate “bait and switch.”  Supervisor was understanding, but unwilling to push my call to the corporate level.   Removing that feature is nonsense!   As you said, it is a popular feature that most everyone uses. Just another example of corporate greed. SMH I hope many other users loudly complain about the removal of this feature. If you’re reading this, please call and complain to a supervisor. Maybe we can get the feature restored until our annual subscription expires.  If this doesn’t happen, they will lose me as a customer, since moving up to the next plan makes no financial sense to me. I only own 1 doorbell. I AM CONTACTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU to file a complaint. I urge others to follow suit.

I'd like to add my voice to the growing dissent.  I purchased this product because it was recommended by a friend.  I live in an area with a lot of foot-traffic (my apartment building has issues as well).  My Ring has been INSIDE my apartment as an added security feature.  I paid for a full year of service up front.  It was a financial hardship, but a necessary one.  And now, in order to have the same features as I had yesterday, I'm expected to pay DOUBLE THE AMOUNT that was already a difficult purchase?   I'm returning my Ring to Amazon and getting a prorated refund from Ring.  Their duplicitous business dealings are simply unacceptable!  Why not grandfather in existing customers or start the price increase at the next renewal?!  This is just corporate greed because they think they're the only game in town!!
