Hi I am sure this is me being daft but I don't seem to be able to work out where to put the connector cable that came with my wired doorbell. The existing setup is a standard door bell that has a cable that runs from the outside door bell into a Friedland type 6 chime and then a cable from that to the low voltage transformer next to the main fuse box. The transformer then goes into the main fuse box. The chime has 4 terminals labelled 0, T3, 1R and F2. I have traced the wires and the ones coming direct from the transformer are going to 0 and T3. The wire that comes out of the chime and goes off to the outside doorbell are on 0 and F2 so 1R has no wire connected at all and 0 has two, 1 from the transformer and 1 to the outside doorbell. So where do I put the connector block that came with it and what wires go what side? Photo attached of how it is now before the ring install. ![Chime|375x500](upload://fLFx790iKkux9cn9SzfqytGDCST.jpeg)

terminals 3 and 2 are the ones you want to bypass - they are the ones going through the chime.

Thanks for the reply, I've basically got 2 wires coming from the transformer, then 2 wires that go off to power the bell. If I just forget the bypass cable that came with the ring bell and get some choc blocks and treat it as if the wires had been cut and reuse them in 2 choc blocks to rejoin them then have no wires still attached to the chime at all is that ok?

Hi, Can we confirm that bypass terminals here again? I am seeing 0 and 3 and then 3 and 2 in the same post for the Friedland type 6 Thank you

Yep - the aim is to completely bypass the chime and just connect the wires straight through to the doorbell.

Hi, apologies for jumping in. I have the same chime box and am also looking to fit a ring doorbell. I have two wires attached to the terminal marked '0'. One from the transformer and one for the existing bell. I have another wire from the transformer to 'T3'. I have a wire from the bell going to 'T2'. Are you able to let me know which go where please?

Continuing the discussion from [Wired doorbell Friedland Type 6 chime](https://community.ring.com/t/wired-doorbell-friedland-type-6-chime/64883/4): Can anyone help me ? This is my doorbell its a Friedland type 1 and is wired differently to the one that Candy has shown. Can anyone tell me what wires to bypass ? I followed the instructions and joined the wire from 0F with the Ring connector to the blank section on the bottom Right but the doorbell is not getting any power. ![20220103_134600|375x500](upload://4ZnuqmmSwll8R2quMjv5hL79S0j.jpeg)

You should disconnect the wires on 0 and 3 and join them through the bypass cable - should look something like this when finished. ![Screenshot 2022-01-04 at 19.15.37|343x451](upload://locClOfL7hrGEejEyspmwuk0rH7.png)

Hi, would it be possible to have a photo of this following the fitting of the jump connector? Many thanks.

AlvinX Did you get this sorted? I appear to have the same setup as yourself - I can't workout which terminals to link with the wago cable?

Folks, I just set this up today and can confirm that you have to disconnect (2) & (3) and connect these to the bypass. Makes sense as you then have (0) which is connecting transformer to one doorbell cable as these are connected together. By putting 2 & 3 through the bypass you are basically connecting the other feed from the transformer (3) to the other doorbell cable (2), hence completing the end to end connection for power. Thus no longer requiring the chime unit. Hope this helps!! The Ring app when going through the install tells you its the left side that need to go through the bypass (0) & (3) - this is incorrect. Only bypassing (2) & (3) will work - if its cabled up as per the diagram at the very top of this page
