snapshot capture and solar panel

Newbie here and first post.... Ok still on my trial period and I have enabled snapshot capture, I have also signed up for the basic plan, but so far its not taken any snapshots ? I also bought the solar panel for the video doorbell 3 plus, battery is showing 85% and device health also confirms the solar charger is connected, know the panel works as before installation it was tested and reading 3.5v and that was like today overcast and wet... (yuk!) Thanks in advance....

Hi @tomcatuk. In order to enable Snapshot Capture, try looking over this Help Center article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034443672-Using-Your-Snapshot-Capture-Feature). Then you will be able to view these Snapshots on the [Event History Timeline](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000704763-Event-History-Timeline-Information). In order for your Solar Panel to maintain the charge of your Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus, it needs 4 hours of direct sunlight per day. Also, if your Doorbell has excessive motions, 35 or more per day, it could cause the Solar Panel to not be able to keeps up with the battery drain. If it shows connected in your Ring app, you should start to see a positive trend in battery percentage. I hope this information helps!

Thanks for the info, my 'snapshots' are working fine, just never realised they were there, expected something on the timeline but they worked... Regarding the solar panel I will be keeping an eye on it, only been installed for a few days or so and the weather has been rubbish, rain rain rain.... though without direct sunlight I would have thought it would still charge as tested the solar panel output before installation from inside a garage and holding up to a small window showed 3.75volts, my garden lights do not need direct sunlight but obviously the work there best when receiving sunshine and they carried on working throught the winter of the last two years... Anyway will keep an eye on it at the moment we're on 78%..
