I had to replace a defective doorbell with a new one. How do I transfer my protection plan to cover it? Its asking me to set up another plan.

Hi @user39224. If your device is being replaced by our support team, you just set up the new device, and your Ring Protect Plan will automatically transfer over. If you purchased a new device as a replacement, you'll have to cancel the old Ring Protect Plan and create a new one for your new device. You can do this on Ring.com.

The Ring Protect Plus plan will cover all Ring Doorbells and Cameras at a single location, so you won’t need to make any changes if you add a new Doorbell or Camera. If you have the Ring Protect Basic plan, this is tied to only a single Doorbell or Camera. In that case, you would want to cancel the Basic plan for the old device and sign up for a new plan on the new device. You’ll receive a prorated refund for any unused time when you cancel a plan.
