Battery not charging
My Doorbell 2 is hardwired, but suddenly seems to have stopped charging. I removed the battery and charged overnight in the house, and although it shows the charging sign and says hardwired, the battery is not charging. Could this be the battery itself, or more likely to be a wiring issue.? Thanks Robdsn

I ran into the same issue. I replaced the 24V transformer (verified 24V) and battery and still ran into the same issue. I did notice that when I inserted the battery, the battery did drop down about 1 mm. That's enough for the battery to no longer makes contact with the battery charging contact points. I tried taping the battery to stay in contact, but it only worked for a day. I suspect that extreme temps in the area caused the shape of the unit to deform and resulted in battery compartment to lose it shape. This is a design flaw by Ring. I'll let you know if my next fix will address the issue. By the way, if this happens, the actual door bell in the house does not ring.

Hi @Robdsn. When hardwiring a battery powered Doorbell to an existing doorbell circuit, it provides a trickle charge each to help keep the battery topped off between charges. How many motion events, Live Views, and Doorbell rings are you experiencing each day? If your Doorbell is recording a lot of motion, the battery may still discharge when it is wired.
