Bad Corrosion - Unit 10 months old
battery-video-doorbell
Ring doorbell purchased 27th Feb 2024 (so just 10 months old, still under warranty) and has corroded badly in normal weather conditions. Ring customer support refused a replacement and instead offered me 30% discount to purchase a new unit, which is insulting. Anyone have the same experience?

Yes, lots of people, especially with the Bronze finish doorbell. My 6 month old Doorbell is already showing signs of corrosion. UK and European Warranty states a product must be fit for purpose and last a reasonable time. Your doorbell is neither. Someone needs to apply to the Small Claims Court. I cannot do this as I'm in Ireland. The Courts are likely to see in favour if the claim is accompanied by other instances of the corrosion. But until someone does it, and posts here for all to see Ring will continue to say no. Once one Courts tells Ring it must replace the Doorbell, it opens the gates for everyone else as they can cite the first case. The problem is, so far, no one has done this, so Ring will keep getting away with it. Edit: Think of it this way: If you bought a car, and it started corroding after 10 months, you would expect it to be fixed, and it would be, under the warranty. Doorbells and cars are no different; they both spend their lives outdoors.
