Wired Doorbell Pro 2 STILL cannot record motion AND allow the doorbell to be pressed (repost with workaround)

I'm posting this original question again because for some reason additional attempts to post an update says "error try again later".   So here is the original post, and a follow-up to help others: Original posting: I say STILL because this was reported at least 8 months ago with this new top end doorbell.  Still no resolution that I see. After some testing, it seems when motion triggers recording, the doorbell can't be pressed.  In other words, when the blue ring around the button is solid, indicating recording, the doorbell is disabled.  This is clearly a bug since turning on the motion zone feature will trigger recording as they approach the doorbell.  Once the recording starts the doorbell will then not work for 50 seconds (shortest amount that can be set) until the recording stops. Why has this significant flaw not been addressed yet?  The only solution I see is to disable the motion sensing feature and turn this into just a regular Ring Doorbell.  But thats not fair since this cost $240 and should support all the advertised features.  Any suggestions from Ring or anyone in the community? Followup post: I decided to call Ring although I suspected I knew what they would say after reading posts like this for 2 years.  Yes, sure enough they are calling this a "feature" not a "bug".   The tech said its disabled after motion because you don't want to hear "ding-dong" come across the recording.  Sounds absurd.  Not sure if they told her to say that or she came up with that on her own.   Of course that's not true, and I would bet lots of money that V3 will work as expected again.  Unfortunately, if it was a software issue, they would have  fixed it by now, so, there is probably some design flaw at the hardware and circuit board level that is not fixable without a production run change.   Understandably, that is not going to happen because the PCB's are being made by the 10s of thousands regularly in some manufacturing plant in China and its too late.  We'll just have to wait for the next gen. In the meantime, here is my work around.   We know the doorbell can't send the signal that the button was pressed while the camera is streaming video.  So the solution is to prevent the camera from detecting motion before the bell can be pressed.  For me it was to reduce the motion zone to be an area outside the path of approach.  Now, someone can easily approach the doorbell and it will not start recording until AFTER they press the button.  Pressing the button also seems to trigger the start of recording.  Since I have a side mounted doorbell, it works for me.  Here is a screenshot of how I got around this V2 bug..  The only way it will now detect a  person is if they knock on the door.  Unlikely but nice that is will do that in case I don't hear the knock.    If anyone comes up with a better idea please share.
