Ring Video Doorbell
Motion detection completely stopped working, again.
This same problem is reported all over the Internet by people with Ring doorbells. The device seems to work for a day or 2 then literally stops. No, it's not my settings. I've even wasted my time on a call with Ring support who confirmed my settings are optimal. They suggested the device was defective. I returned it and now the same thing is happening with the new one. It worked the first day it was installed, now it barely functions. In the middle of the dark night it will detect motion from a tiny cat, but in broad daylight a 200 pound delivery man can walk the full length of my driveway, step on my porch 2 feet away from the doorbell, drop a package and walk away, and this piece of garbage detects nothing. And for this they want me to pay a monthly subscription? Ring knows this is going on by the sheer number of complaints so when is it going to be addressed? Is it the hardware, or can this be fixed with new firmware? Regardless I'm sending this one back too, and getting one from a Ring competitor.

Hi @Jimd. I don't have enough information here to tell you why this is happening. If you care to share some screenshots or pictures of how your device is mounted, I'm sure I can offer some advice to assist you with this. Also, what is the RSSI for your device?
