Is the Ring video doorbell 3 faulty??
I am having huge issues with the ring video doorbell 3 and its inability to update? Is the device faulty???? (full issue below) I also cant contact a ring employee to get a solution', unless i call and sit on hold. Does anyone know an email contact for ring technical support? The ring video doorbell 2nd generation is connected via wifi and solely battery powered. It has worked fine since I purchased it. The ring video doorbell 3 is connected via wifi and is both battery powered and hardwired. It has always been more prone to issues, such as wifi dropouts, poor / freezing video recording and poor determination of relevant person motion detection. However, since December this device has been working incredibly poorly. The issue started with a update download in December. Following this, when I next changed the battery the device had issues reconnecting. I then manually reconnected the wifi service and after quite some attempts, it connected. However, then it immediately downloaded an update. At the end of Dec / start of Jan, the battery I had to again change the battery and experienced the same issue. I suspect it is repeatedly trying to install the same update. I have today changed the battery again and the device cannot reconnect to the wifi, I have used two completely full batteries, rebooted multiple occasion and tried to reinstall the wifi. It makes it to 95%, then does not connect and has a right white flashing light on the ring doorbell. I have tried for over 30 minutes and have had no success. I have only had this device for a few years (I upgraded from perfectly fuctional older first generation video doorbell because of the promised better better video and wifi connectivity) and this seems to be at best full of bugs, and at worst defective. I really do not want to have to go back to the first generation doorbell, or switch my home setup to another video doorbell service. Does anyone know what is wrong with this product and if there is a fix?

Hi @user_f57127. It sounds like your issue is rooted in a weak connection, or RSSI. To improve this, you may need a Chime Pro or other wifi extender. You may need to adjust your Router Channels by visiting here. You can also confirm you are using the correct ports and protocols, mentioned here. If you are still having an issue, please follow up with our support team for further assistance. You can get in touch with our support team at one of the numbers here, or @Ring on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
