Doorbell wired works but existing chime doesn't
chime

Hi there. Just purchased the new doorbell wired and connected the jumper cable to the existing chime through "trans" and "front" as directed. The Ring works fine but the chime doesn't sound off. It is powered at 16 volts, well within the 10-24 as stayed in the directions. ![IMG_20210218_204628|666x499](upload://twgJ94wJZC9ZngxHV1vqar6Nv9P.jpeg) Please help!

Hi @elugo67. The Video Doorbell Wired does not sound your existing doorbell chime, so this would be why you are not hearing your chime sound off. To hear audio alerts in your home, you can pair it with a Ring Chime or a compatible Alexa device. This information is referenced on the product page on our website, which you can find [here ](https://ring.com/products/video-doorbell-wired). I hope this helps answer your questions!

Good question, @Brendahiland! For the Ring Doorbell Wired specifically and exclusively, the jumper cable is required for installation. Installing it on your chime kit as directed will provide sufficient power for operation. Your chime kit will not, however, function with this installed. Find out more from our [Community post about Doorbell Wired](https://community.ring.com/t/product-launch-video-doorbell-wired/38488) and it's installation. :)
