Doorbell turning motion alerts off when app is closed, sliding back on when opened??
I stopped getting notifications the other day. I've done literally everything but factory reset my phone. Reinstalled the app, factory reset the doorbell, checked all notifications were on, etc. I've followed every troubleshooting guide that exists. I'm not on DND mode, I'm done the airplane mode on/off thing, clear caches, reset permissions and things on my phone, malware scans, you name it. If there's a troubleshooting step for a ring doorbell listed somewhere, I have definitely tried it. The weird thing is that when I open the app, and click on the settings button, when it opens the settings page with the three toggles for alerts on the side, the motion alerts toggle quickly slides from off to on, on its own. So when the app is closed, the motion alerts toggle is off I guess? I have no idea why, and this just started randomly maybe 2 days ago. I've run scans on my phone for malware and viruses, reset various permissions and settings, and have not installed any weird things on my phone. I literally have zero idea why this is happening. Anyone have this issue before? Its driving me completely insane.

Moto G Stylus 2022, app is newest version because I've uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple times while troubleshooting. Phone is up to date, no ad blockers, and while I do have a vpn, and usually the app worked even with it on, I have turned it off. I've done every single trouble shooting step short of a full factory reset of my phone. Every time I close the app it seems to toggle off the motion alerts, as I can literally see the toggle slide back to 'on' when I open the app and go to my doorbell's settings page. I've also got the push notifications on my browser enabled but they aren't showing either, likely because motion alerts are turning off in the app.

Hi @user_4d824b. This sounds more like a visual bug, rather than the Motion Alerts toggle actually turning off and on each time. To clarify, the Motion Alerts toggle in the Ring app controls the motion notifications on that specific smartphone or tablet. Turning this off or on would not impact motion notifications on another smartphone or tablet, or on your desktop computer. Have you tested the motion detection, or checked the motion settings? If you haven't done so already, make sure your Motion Zones are configured, and verify that motion detection is not turned off in the Modes settings. After that, walk in front of your Ring Doorbell to try and trigger a motion detection. If you didn't receive a notification, open the app and check the Event History to see if the motion detection itself was logged or not.

Hi @user_4d824b. What type of phone are you using and what version of the Ring app is installed? Are you using a VPN or add blocker app?
