Ring Security Cameras
Temperature
I live in Alaska (where temps can get below -30) and want to know if any has had any problems with any of the cameras outdoors? and if they still work the same after the winter, or are there issues with the cameras or senors? Thanks

I have the wired floodlight camera as well. We live near Toronto, Canada. Sometimes it gets below -30C, does this mean the camera just may not work at these times, or could it break completely? As for the Ring Doorbell 3plus battery, same concerns, if we leave the device at our door year round is there risk of it breaking under these temperatures, or just not working until it warms up? Many thanks!!

MHi @Carl519! Those are certainly some cold temperatures. When it comes to battery powered devices, cold weather will drain the battery quickly. If you are expecting temperatures to be this cold, it may be best to look into our wired devices. Even when wired, if the temperature falls outside of the required operating temperatures it might not operate as intended. Although our outdoor rated devices are weather resistant, extreme conditions could cause damage. I hope this helps! :)

Hi @WeMustProtectThisHou! Glad you asked. Most of our out door rated devices have a required operating temperature of -5°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C), with the exception of our powered cameras (ex: Floodlight Cam) that can operate between -22°F to 120°F (-30°C to 48.5°C). It sounds like your best bet would be to explore one of our power Cameras. While our outdoor rated Cameras are weather resistant, we recommend avoiding extreme climate, extreme weather conditions, and direct torrential water contact. That being said, the cold itself can certainly effect operation during too low/ high of temperatures. I hope this helps! :)
