Stickup Cam - Hardwire Options
hardwired-security-cameras

Good evening. I have a Stickup Cam that I have been using with a battery for some time. We have recently had some re-wire work carried out and I took the opportunity to have an external 240V junction box installed, which is very close to the camera. I have seen the power adapter and transformer that can be purchased, however, I don't need the huge length of cable that comes with it. Although I could cut down the length that connects directly to the 240V supply I would still be left with several metres coming from the transfomer to the camera itself. Again, I could cut this down, but that would require another junction box to ensure waterproofing, plus I don't really want to spend £35 on a kit to throw away half the cable. Are there any other options available, similar to the one that comes with the Spotlight Cam mount, although I appreciate that is a different voltage. Thanks.

Good question, @Canondrive! Our Stick Up Cameras are not able to wired to high voltage or wiring at this time. There are Plug-In Power adapters available, as you mentioned seeing on Ring.com, in which we recommend only using the intended accessory compatible with your device for proper operation. At this time, the Stick Up Cam power options are battery, plug-in adapter, or PoE for the Elite model. We advise to not make any alterations to your Ring device that is not intended by design, as this can void warranty and result unintended operation. If you are interested in wiring a Camera, check out our Floodlight Cameras and Spotlight Camera Mount, that install to junction box / wiring. As we always value our neighbors' feedback, feel free to add any installation accessory requests on our [Feature Request Board](https://community.ring.com/c/products/feature-request-board/24). This way other neighbors can share their interest in one place, that we can organize and share with our teams here. :)

Thanks for your answer. Can I just confirm, from your answer it appears any of the floodlight or spotlight cam wired can go straight into a junction box and I wouldn't need to go for a mount version?

Hi @Canondrive. Happy to chime in for Marley here. The Floodlight Cam will be wired into your junction box whereas the Spotlight Cam Wired has an outdoor plug for a wall outlet. I hope this clears things up for you.
