Stick up cam wired generation 3

Hi all I have a couple of questions regarding the wired stick up cam generation 3 which I have 3 of 1. All 3 have batteries in them as backup but what’s the point if my power and Wi-Fi go off the cam will be on because of the battery but can it still record motion if no WiFi? 2. I also have the ring alarm and pay for full monitoring this also has battery back up and mobile 3G back up question is will my gen 3 cams use this 3G signal also if Wi-Fi goes down to keep recording motion Hope that all makes sense

Great questions @Costa77! Our Video Doorbell and Camera devices do require wifi to operate, which means in the result of a power outage and network going offline will mean that your Camera cannot operate motion or record videos amongst other things. It would be considered offline at that time. That being said, we've seen neighbors use routers that feature battery backups to avoid this scenario. The Alarm system also connects to wifi for its primary connection via the Base Station. The rest of your Alarm devices will then communicate with the Base Station using an efficient radio frequency. When the Alarm system is utilizing the cellular backup feature, it is doing so to maintain Base Station connection and communication with Alarm devices. I hope this helps! :)

Ok so are you saying that if you electric goes off and your Wi-Fi goes off the stick up cam gen 3 will still NOT record using the base station back up 3G. If this is the case what is the point in having a battery back up?

Hi, I guess it's just an additional option as it's a a Battery model, you can slip a battery in there and it will always be charged... for some power issues can be a problem and they may have separate supplies/circuits in their property that could independently fail. Plus there are those who run their wifi on UPS solutions that keeps their wifi and Internet up even if there is a property power failure. In that case the cameras ability to switch to battery would mean they would keep running.
