Stick Up Cam (1st Gen) Deactivated

I have a 1st Gen Stick Up Camera and an ACTIVE Home Standard Plan (as well as a wired doorbell cam). The first Gen Stick Up Cam is now reporting as Deactivated and when I go to my Ring.com account I see that this device is no longer sold / supported. I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything to deactivate the device but the other day Ring sent an email saying 'Your Stick Up Cam is offline' and suggested some ways of getting the camera back online. However, none of it is useful as I have not moved the camera nor reset or touched it in anyway. It seems impossible for me to reactivate it. Any help or pointers gratefully received as I'm a bit stuck on this one.

Actually, just found more help on Reddit than I did on the Ring.com help articles..  https://www.reddit.com/r/Ring/comments/1f52feq/unfortunately_ring_is_taking_the_ring_stick_up/  It looks like Ring are taking these devices offline as they are now unsupported.. Yet they are now sending me emails telling me my device is Offline!!! I can't find any help article listing unsupported devices and it seems my only alternative is to buy a new camera. It feels like not only are Ring incompetent by sending out emails trying to help me get a device back online that they have just permanently deactivated but also just screwing me for money by forcing me to buy a new camera to replace a perfectly good one. Why could they just not leave it operating?... it's way beyond its warranty so if it did ever fail then fine, I would have bought a new one. But this is just forcing me to replace a camera that was working perfectly. Feels like time to look for other solutions. This company is just taking the p**s.
