How to change from Basic in Amazon to Plus

I spent several hours this morning trying to figure it out. 1) I canceled my subscription to Basic in Amazon. 2) I went to Ring. Did the crap required - and ended up repeatedly at the Dashboard. SO --- 3) I opened a new account. It took me right away to subscription services plans and prices (not the Dashboard). I picked the Plus. Put in my credit card info. And it went through. I picked a year - came to about $XXXX.
