I have just installed the ring doorbell wired the app said I need 16-24v but on the box and website it states 8-24v ac looked on website and the ring transformer is dc output can anyone clarify thanks

8-24v is definitely correct - if you have an existing doorbell system it needs to be AC - if you are installing new you can use Ring's DC transformer as well.
