Ring App Windows 10 will not login - error code: 0x80131500
neighbors

I have set up my app on the phone and can log in to the website (and here, obviously) but the Windows 10 desktop app doesnt work - when i enter my correct details it just gives the: "**Something went wrong - Error code: 0x80131500 :(**" message. I have followed instructions on here and other places to try to solve - none work. - Reset MS store cache - nope - Reinstalled app - nope - rebooted - nope - updated windows - nope - set new firewall rules - nope - disabled antivirus and firewall - nope If I try to reset my passowrd with the app (in case its totally messed up) I get a different error - 406. Please provide a solution - I work at my desk most of the time so this is where i want to be able to see my doorbell activity from.

It seems like this is a window store issue. Here is a link with things to check. [https://www.auslogics.com/en/articles/fix-microsoft-store-error-0x80131500/](https://www.auslogics.com/en/articles/fix-microsoft-store-error-0x80131500/)

Thanks for that but nothing of those has worked - also tried on a different PC and that has exactly the same issue with the same error code. 1. Store Troubleshooter complains about UAC so tried with both on and off - nope 2. Reset store cache - no issues raised 3/4 checked all date and time/region settings - all correct 5. Can t switch to wifi but did make changes to the selected internet options - nope 6. New account - same issue **7. this one gave an error saying that the location didnt exist for WinStore - did a search and have no directory called that - ideas on this one welcome** 8. DNS - nope 9. System File checker in powershell - ran and no issues identified 10. dont have an xbox account 11. Not performing a clean boot - everything else works (including other apps) so it isnt that issue 12. Firewall and AV disabled - already tried, and set allowed programs - nope 13. Dont have wireless connections If you know of anymore things I can try I would be grateful.

I'd say, you know what you're doing. It's a weird error for sure since it can be so many things. If it happens on 2 computers, there must be a common factor. The only thing I can think of would be the internet connection. But, that in itself could be many reasons you get that error. Maybe try running your cellphone as a wifi hot spot and try connecting with your computer if possible to rule out the wifi and router.

Unfortunately neither of my home computers run on wifi and i dont have a laptop - so no way of checking that.

Hey there, @ADF2k! It sounds like you've tried a great many steps here to get this to work. Removing and reinstalling the Ring app on your Windows 10 machine is always a good step, as is attempting to log in at Ring.com from a browser, just to ensure the credentials work. I recommend also disabling any VPN that might be enabled as a test to see if this might be a factor. If this concern persists, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360041597471) to see how to contact support. I hope this helps! :)

I have tried removing and reinstalling a few times and it is the same error that persists. I dont have my VPN running when I try this and as I am logged in here and it is the same credentials I assume that there is nothing wrong with my account.

I just got off the phone with "the highest level of support" manager of ring support. His answer to this problem, which I also have, is that ring is discontinuing support for win 10. Use your cell phone was his answer. My answer- put the ring cams on fb marketplace & go to another manufacturer that supports accerss on win 10.

It has been months since I was able to make the Ring app work on my PC. I have been getting error code 0x80131500 for a while now. I thought I'd try it again since Ring made me update to two factor authentication to update my credit card today. Nope, that and all of the installing, restarting and cache clearing has not made the Ring app work on my PC. And now with two factor authentication, I'm really sorry that I invested in this product. It has really become an intrusive an excessive pain in the axe to use. Instead of making something that is time sensitive, like viewing a live stream, easier to use, they keep adding more steps! Are they highering laid off government IT workers to make their security decisions now?!?!?! But, I digress... Oh, and now I'm scolded for bad words! Nancies!!!

I just got off the phone with customer support, and they said they were "having problems with the Windows 10 application" and that they were working on it. They said there was no time to resolution. Customer service rep said that they would send an email when it was resolved.....

This isnt acceptable - the biggest platform out there and you are pulling support. The reason I bought this was because it was listed as supporting home desktop machines - that is false advertising on your part especially if you had already planned to pull support for Windows 10. I am now stuck with a system, that for most of the time i cant view.

Was working fine on Windows 10 PC then the notice to update account login came and after the password passcode login was performed trying to login to the PC App gives "Something went wrong :( The error code is 0x80131500". Reload, reboot doesn't help. PC browser gives a dashboard but there's no alarms/notifications, live view, nor audio.
