Want to add Ring Alarm system but already have Eero 6 Pro

Hello, We already have a set of three Eero 6 Pro access points. Now we want to add a Ring alarm/security system. But it looks like the Ring Alarm Pro already has an Eero 6 built in. What should I do? Do I have to throw out a perfectly good Eero 6 Pro access point? Or can I just add the Ring Alarm system on top of our existing network? Thanks.

Hi @RedRedBeard. The Ring Alarm Pro is designed to replace your existing router and it's not recommended to use it as a wifi extender. If you decide to use the Ring Alarm Pro as a wifi extender rather than as a replacement to your existing router, you will not be able to access features such as the [24/7 Backup Internet ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061018412-24-7-Backup-Internet-and-Extra-Data) and local video storage with [Ring Edge ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054769672-Store-and-process-videos-locally-with-Ring-Edge). If you have any further questions on what features the Ring Alarm Pro offers, you can review our Help Center [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054396012-Ring-Alarm-Pro). I hope this helps! :)
