Logical or not? Chime and Camera activation

Hi all, I was wondering about a few odd logic issues I have and wondered if......? 1. I could get the ring chime to make the sounds the ring alarm system does? For Example, when the doors open the ring alarm makes a sound due to the sensors, can I pair the chime plug to the alarm or specific sensors? 2. When armed if the ring alarm goes off it activates the cameras to start recording, however, I can't seem to be able to use the motion detection of the ring camera to trigger the alarm?? I've had to place a Motion detection sensor next to the camera that detects motion???? Thanks

Hi @rcottam. The Ring Chime and Chime Pro cannot be linked to your Ring Alarm system to play alerts from the Ring Alarm devices. The [Chime and Chime Pro can only be linked to Ring Doorbells and Cameras](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034840052-How-to-Link-your-Ring-Devices-to-a-Chime-or-Chime-Pro) to play alerts for motions and dings. As for your second question, that is how it is intended to function. The [Linked Devices feature](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035485411--Linked-Devices-Automatically-Record-on-Cameras-when-Alarm-is-Triggered) allows you to link your Ring devices together, but the Ring Alarm can only be triggered by Ring Alarm devices like Contact Sensors and Motion Detectors, not your Doorbells or Cameras. I hope this helps clear things up. :)
