Solar panel impacting battery life

I purchased a solar panel so I wouldn’t have to change the batteries on my spotlight camera as often. Now, it appears the batteries are running down faster?? It is not an issue with placement of the panel, there is plenty of light. I also have solar panel on one of my back cameras and both batteries constantly show 100%
