Chime Pro Uploading a large amount of dataa
Hey all, I’ve noticed my Chime Pro uploading a very large amount of data - this week alone it’s at 1.3TB (yes terabytes) My Ring camera is directly connected to my WiFi I’ve tried resetting it and adding and removing it from my account. Has anybody had a similar experience? For now I’ve set a limit of 50kbps to keep it from uploading so much.

Same issue here. My Chime Pro has uploaded 349MB in the last 24 hours. Last month something on my network used up 4TB and based on what I’ve been able to determine, it’s very likely that it was the Chime Pro. There are plenty of reports of this all over the internet on various forums. I am not using the Chime Pros wireless network, all my Ring devices are connected directly to my regular wifi. On my firewall I blocked uploads for the Chime Pro and it logged a bunch of attempts to reach the following addresses and ports - [chimeprov2.ring.com] 9999 [fw-eventstre*********.ring.com] 443 [fw.ring.com] 443 I also have a regular Chime and it’s not doing anything strange. So, what is this thing doing? I’m thinking about just taking it offline and replacing it with a regular Chime.

Hi @SoCalS. Are there any other Ring devices connected to your Chime Pro, such as a different Ring Doorbell or Camera? Do you have your Chime Pro set to play an audible alert for motions or rings? If so, how many events are occurring each day, on average? It would also be helpful if you could share a screenshot of where you’re seeing this 1.3TB data usage recorded.
