Chime makes noise for motion but doesn't ring.

I am now at my wits end.I have been through all trouble shooting and cannot understand why my chime will make noise when motion is detected yet will not ring?I have restarted, reinstalled, checked network, checked speed and tested the sound.It has no issue with motion at all but no ring.Please help, thank you
