Transfer of Ownershipg

Hi I bought a camera off amazon thinking it was a brand new one but what turned up was a second hand one. When intried to connect I had to request ownership of it he teansferred to me. This still hasnt happened. What happens if the previous owner doesnt do this? Cheers Rob
