Remember browser? Have to authenticate every time
Is there a way to remember a browser? I’m on iPhone and every time I have to log in, and using 2FA have to get a text code and log in again? Thanks

Hi This is for the community forums though. I have to sign in every time and authenticate with 2FA. I understand the app etc, but what about the community forums? Thanks

CHi @L1111. Yes, your Community account is the same as your Ring account so it will behave the same way in that a two-step verification code is needed to sign in.

LOk, so I have to 2FA everytime, is there a way to not remember the browser though? Or make it an extended time as it times out and have to do it all again even after an hour. Thanks

C@L1111 No, there is no way to remember the browser or adjust the time at which it will automatically sign you out. These measures are in place to protect the privacy and security of your Ring account, but we appreciate the feedback you've shared. :)

EI'm all for two factor authentication, but Ring's implementation is inconsistent and can be annoying. 1. You need 2FA to login to the app. That's good, but once logged in there is no further protection. If security/privacy is a concern then it should be possible to further require a pin or fingerprint authentication to access the app. At the very least require password or pin/fingerprint to access the account settings. It seems like I can change anything in there (invite a shared user?) without any sort of authentication. 2. You need 2FA to login to manage your account on [ring.com](http://ring.com). This login form DOES have a "remember this browser" option. You get automatically logged out after some time, but if you checked the remember option then you don't need 2FA to login again. I'm guessing that's for user convenience but kind of goes against Ring's security/privacy argument. 3. You need 2FA to login to the community forums EVERY TIME. There is no option to remember the browser or set how long you remain logged in, so when you get auto-logged off then you'll need to go through 2FA again. It's also more annoying for the forums because you have to enter your password twice. Once to initiate the process and then the password field gets cleared and you have to enter it again along with the 2FA code. Basically, the login to the community forums is stricter than to either the main site or the mobile app.

This is puzzling to me too. Why do I need to get a 2FA push to log into the community every time but not my actual Ring account? Seems backwards!

Same here, even my bank can get the 2FA right and the community forum and even the Ring dashboard can remember the 2FA but not the forms. Annoying.

Hey neighbors. You can login to Ring.com and have the option to "Keep me signed in for 30 days). I hope this helps!

WThat's for ring.com, we're also talking about this community site, which doesn't seem to have that option.

R@Tom_Ring This does not work as advertised. Browser app will ignore that you have selected "Keep me signed in" and require re-sign in about once an hour. It's actually faster to just login again then go through the double confirmation that "Keep me signed in" requires. I have spent over an hour in chat and on phone with Ring "support" and they won't even give me a way to report this problem.

Hi @RedJ. If you are not staying logged in for 30 days on [Ring.com](http://ring.com/) when choosing the option, try the following steps: * Check to see if the web browser you're using has any available updates. * Clear your cache and cookies. * Disable any active VPNs on the device you are using. * Try using a different device and a different web browser. If you have tried these steps and are still having the same concern, give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406) for further assistance. If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support. Since you have an ongoing concern, you can ask to be escalated to our advanced support team to have a more in-depth look into your web browser not being able to stay logged in for 30 days on Ring.com.

Hi @L1111. When signing into your Ring account on the Ring App or on the Ring website, you'll always receive a two-step verification code in order to keep your account secure. Your safety and privacy are one of our top concerns, and you can choose whether to receive the two-step verification code via email or text message in the [Control Center](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038142272-Ring-Control-Center-Information). I hope this helps answer your questions. :)
