Outdoor motion sensor or camera that ties to alarm status
works-with-ring

I would like an outdoor motion detector that would have the option to tie into the alarm. Specifically I'm looking for a motion sensor that would send a push notification to my phone in the event someone steps on my front porch (I wouldn't want it to actually cause the siren to sound). The current cameras don't solve that issue, because I would like one that only detects motion when the alarm is armed in either home or away, but does not detect motion when the alarm is unarmed. That way I wouldn't be notified every time I walk past it while I'm home, but I would be notified when I am away or in for the night. I wouldn't have to try to remember to turn on and off alerts every time I come and go on one of your existing cameras. A camera would be acceptable, or just a motion detector, but it would need to be something that is only active when the alarm is armed. It would have to be rated for outdoor use.

The Disarm (unarmed) Alarm Mode does not mean "Turn-off-sensors" Mode, but rather it really means "Base Station, Do Not trigger the Alarm Siren" Mode. Sensors are battery operated without an ON/OFF switch. Battery removal turns them OFF. As confirmation, look just below the App Dashboard's three Disarmed-Home-Away Icon button where you typically see "All sensors cleared", based on the last Z-Wave inputs received by the Base Station. While in DISARM Mode, walk in front of a Motion-sensor or open a door with a Contact-sensor. The "All sensors cleared" will change, confirming the sensors are still ON and providing Z-Wave inputs (Disarm Mode does not turn the sensor OFF). Also, every sensor device's "Status-Change" is logged & stored on the "Event History" for that device, and you'll find many logged entries, even when you were in Disarm Mode. - The Alarm Modes of DISARM, HOME, and AWAY **Modes do not and cannot not** currently have any influence over Notifications Alerts (those 'push' text-type notifications you receive on your phone). If you have a sensor text Notification Alert setting toggled ON in a sensor or camera, you will **always receive text notifications in all 3 modes** , including DISARM Mode. You can toggle to get (or not get) a 'push' text Notification on your phone: - - Motion-sensors: "Motions Alerts." - - Contact-Sensor (doors & windows): Notification text Alert available for "Open Alerts" and/or "Closed Alerts." Additionally, Video Camera only "speak" with Wi-Fi frequency (cannot 'speak' Z-Wave). The Base Station automatically activates the Alarm system siren based on Z-Wave triggering inputs from sensors. Therefore, a Video camera can never tell the Base Station to automatically sound the Alarm system siren. So, an _Outdoor_ Motion-Detector already exist (and provides video, an outdoor video camera). A new outdoor Motion-detector-sensor will not do what you are requesting, because it will **still 'push'** text notifications if "Motion Alert" is toggled ON for that device, **regardless of the MODE setting**. I hope you find this information helpful :)
