Feature Request for schedule mode -- Faulty sensor should not bypass automatically
modes
app-settings
app-request
base-station

Currently faulty sensor are automatically bypassed in the schedule mode. Is it possible to provide an additional toggle in the app to sound the alarm or not , while creating the schedule. It would help in the case where door is left open unintentionally. And schedule kicks in late night when you are asleep.** Creating new post as suggested, Here is the link for original post https://community.ring.com/t/feature-request-for-schedule-mode-faulty-sensor-should-not-bypass-automatically/138168

I found a discussion thread from a year ago where someone was asking for this same capability & it appears their concern was never understood or taken seriously, as I found it a year later because I have the same concerns. I noticed this because, in the summer, I like to sit with my front door open to allow air into the living room. With my previous alarm, it would not auto-set with the door open. I would bypass the window sensors in the summer until I turned the air in & the windows remained closed again, but I obviously would never want to bypass my front door.Let me explain the concern with a hypothetical situation:A visitor comes to your door & finds a moment to be alone in a room for the few seconds it takes to crack a window, unbeknownst to the homeowner. Visitor leaves, day ends, alarm auto-sets, as usual, & homeowner goes to bed. About an hour after the lights have been out, the visitor comes back & goes straight to the window they left open. The homeowner had no way of knowing it was open (yes, they should have checked, but figured surely their alarm would not set with a window open…). Visitor climbs through the window as the homeowner sleeps, not even tripping the alarm because the sensor was automatically bypassed without the knowledge of the homeowner, & the visitor robs the home or worse. How has no one thought of this potential scenario yet to resolve this issue…?The interesting, & incredibly bewildering thing is, if I try to set my alarm with Alexa or even the app with a sensor open, I have to acknowledge I want to bypass the open sensors. If the alarm auto-sets, I may not even be home & now my home isn’t even protected when I thought it was. This doesn’t seem like a solid security measure. Please fix…. ASAP.

I also feel this is highly needed. I have a habit of leaving a window or two open when the weather is nice, however this is something I will forget about. When my scheduled alarm setting time comes, the alarm is set without a notification. If I try to set the alarm early compared to my scheduled time, I do get a warning. This discrepancy I think can be addressed, because obviously the hooks are in place and just need to be utilized. Please, provide a notification, vocalization, something, almost anything than what you are providing for if I leave a window open or heaven forbid A door open. And go to bed and allow my alarm to auto set. Where I live, that could equal a bear or a criminal entering my home. Thank you for looking at this.

In the evening when the alarm arms with home mode, I have to check the app to see if any of my sensors are in the open position. E.g I have sensors on my wife’s office windows and in the hot weather she opens the windows but often forgets to close them when leaving her office. In the evening when the alarm arms it does this quite happily and tells me that it is armed, but with no reference to the windows that are open. This is only visible in the app. What would be nice is to have the alarm tell me when arming that there are sensors that are not closed and which ones so that I can go and deal with this.
