Testing First Alert Smoke and CO

Just added 5 First Alert Smoke & CO detectors (2nd Gen) to my Alarm Pro. All devices added successfully and show up under devices. Tried to test one of the detectors by: 1. Switched to “Self Monitoring” (so to avoid fire department activation). 2. Pressed and held “Test” button on detector. The detector alarm sounded for a few seconds then shut off. No notification on Ring phone app. Keypad and base station did not alarm. Other detectors did not alarm. This does not give me much confidence that the system is working properly. I do not want a system where only the local detector sounds during alarm. How can I confirm Z-wave system is working for these detectors?
