Amazon Alexa + Ring
Ring 2 Doorbell - Linked to Alexa Devices - Want Them To Ring Twice or More
Hi Folks, I purchased the Ring doorbell for my folks, for that added extra bit of security. They're delighted with it, however, is there a way to have it ring a couple of more times via the Amazon Alexa systems? Their hearing isn't great, so a repeat ring really helps them pick up the noise and know someone is at the door. If that makes sense. Not sure if it's a setting within the doorbell, or a setting within the Alexa app (presuming the latter). Any pointers and guidance would be most appreciated, as I've looked through all the various options and cannot see anything obvious. Thanking you in advance.

Hi @MattW76. It's great to hear that your parents are enjoying the Ring Doorbell so far! You are correct that this would need to be configured in the Alexa app, as the Ring app doesn't support multiple alerts for one event. There are a few options for the Ring and Alexa integration. The first is setting up announcements in the Alexa app. You can select specific announcement devices, and have the alert set for Doorbell rings and motions. The next option is to set up a Routine to have Alexa do something after a trigger action occurs, such as someone ringing the Doorbell. For multiple alerts, you could try combining Alexa Announcements and Routines. It's my guess that the announcement would play first, and then the Routine could be set to play another alert of some sort. Let me know if that works out for you!
