Ring Stick Up cam battery / solar (gen 3)

does someone know when the black version of this camera will become available?

best regards, Wim

Hey @wim314! A black version of the newest Stick Up Cam (3rd Generation) is not available at this time, but I appreciate the feedback. I’ll make sure to update you if we have this available down the road!

When are you going to offer a black outdoor battery stick-up cam?

The website shows the 3rd gen stick up cams will be available in black. It would be nice if we received more of a detailed answer. We’re not dealing with national security here! It would be nice to know if black will be available in the next 30 days, or 60 days, or 120 days. SOMETHING, so your customers can plan accordingly, or move on to a different brand. Sometimes, Ring feels like they WANT to push customers away.

Hey @DalTxJim! Rest assured we have gotten this question a couple times in the Community, and continue to bug our protect teams for an ETA on when the black version will be available. We still do not have an ETA at this time, but will let you know when we have even a rough idea of when this coming soon availability is!

Hey neighbors! The black version of the Stick Up Cam and Indoor Cam are now available for US, CA and ANZ. We hope to bring this to our neighbors in other parts of the world soon, and will make sure to update the Community accordingly. You can purchase the black version of the following cameras directly from our website below:

Indoor Cam
Stick Up Cam Battery
Stick Up Cam Plug-In
Stick Up Cam Solar
Stick Up Cam Elite

Thank you for showing your interest, neighbors, and let me know if you have any questions! :smiley_cat:

Now I need to know which 110V power adapter works with the 3rd generation Stick Up Cam Battery because chat doesn’t know squat. I asked for a 3rd generation owner’s manual and he sent me a link to the 2nd generation. Then I asked which 110V adapter works with the 3rd generation Stick Up Cam Battery. Silence.

Your online chat people don’t know your products!!!

Hey @DalTxJim. The power adapter that works with the Stick Up Cam 3rd Generation can be found here. For the Stick Up Cam Battery, you can find the manual here and for the Plug-In version you can find the manual here, as you would be converting your Battery to a Plug-In with this cord.

Can you tell us if the newest version of the Stick Up Cam Battery and the Stick Up Cam Plug-In have the exact same motion detection? Do they both have customizable motion zones, as in the user can change the shape/size of the motion area? Or does this change depending on whether the unit is 110V powered vs battery power?

i.e. Do they both have the same customizable motion areas as the Indoor Cam?

Thank you.

@DalTxJim The Stick Up Cam Battery and Plug-In devices by default will have the same battery-operated motion detection settings when setting up the device. If the Stick Up Cam recognizes that there is the Plug-In Adapter installed and it is reading as hardwired in the Device Health page, you should be able to switch the device over to Wired Mode. In Wired Mode, which you can learn more about in our Help Center Article here, the device will have the same motion settings as hardwired devices. Therefore, if you can plug in your Stick Up Camera, you should get the same motion settings as the Indoor Cam.
