False Flagging by Ring's Backend Server falsely claiming a person flagged a post of mine as SPAM

The text of the SPAM claim for the Community Forum is between the ++++

Yes, people, when troubleshooting technical equipment it IS often necessary to site that technical equipment by brand name. Such references are NOT sales pitches and are not SPAM. And furthermore I highly doubt that a human being that is a “member of the community” flagged my post because it would ridiculous to flag a post that gives the correct technical solution to a technical problem as SPAM. So that leaves Ring’s backend server as having flagged the post and SPAM and Ring is misrepresenting that fact as claiming it was flagged by an anonymous “community member”. Not right.

Anyway, Ring, get it together…

"Hello,

This is an automated message from Ring Community to let you know that your post was hidden.

Your post was flagged as spam : the community feels it is an advertisement, something that is overly promotional in nature instead of being useful or relevant to the topic as expected.

This post was hidden due to flags from the community, so please consider how you might revise your post to reflect their feedback. You can edit your post after 10 minutes, and it will be automatically unhidden.

However, if the post is hidden by the community a second time, it will remain hidden until handled by staff.

For additional guidance, please refer to our community guidelines."

Hi @RingAccountForMe. I’d like to clear this up for you. First, I’ve confirmed that your post is active and all Community members are able to see it. :slightly_smiling_face:

The Ring Community has set parameters that may automatically “flag” a post as SPAM or something malicious in nature. When a post is flagged, one of the Ring Community Moderators, like myself, are notified to review the flagged post and determine if it falls within the Community Guidelines. Once we’ve reviewed the post, we can approve it for all of the Community to see.

It’s important to note that Community Moderators are generally in office Monday - Friday and if a post is flagged outside of that time, there may be a delay in the review process. This is all done to ensure a positive and productive Community for all of our neighbors to enjoy. Thanks, Neighbor!
