Hi! My ring doorbell 3 is hardwired to our existing manual chime. Lately, when the doorbell is pressed, the chime continues vibrating and ringing, so we ended up disconnecting the wires inside chime. Now the bell push is only using battery power. Does the old chime require to be connected for the bell push to be powered?

Hi @user57723. It's possible the chime kit wasn't compatible, or there may have been a problem with the wiring along the doorbell circuit. If you'd prefer to use the Ring Doorbell 3 without the wiring, you can disconnect it from the doorbell circuit. The Doorbell is battery powered and does not require hardwiring.
