Chime keeps dropping wifi

My chime connects to wifi and then 3-4 days later it drops. It has now done that 4 times. What is going on?

    For me, our new Xfinity Gateway turned out to be the problem. It does some form of smart switching between 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz and this was causing our chimes to disconnect every few hours. My solution was to connect the chimes through another access point in the house that has a dedicated 2.4Ghz channel.

      I'm fairly new to the whole Ring thing. Had a Ring 4 doorbell and one chime for around three months now. Right from the outset, the chime would constantly disconnect. Purchased a second chime for upstairs and same issue with that, both disconnecting on different days, different times. Thought I'd try something last week...created a Guest account on my router just for the Chimes and linked them both to that...touch wood, since then no disconnections.

        When a Chime is falling offline this can be due to WiFi connection or power. Please try another outlet that is close to the router to see if it maintains connection this way. I recommend also considering how many devices are connected to your home network and the resources to support all of them.             Hi.. after reading the comments it seems there is a lot of people all encountering the same issue as myself. After setting up the Chime 2nd Gen, after 2 to 3 days it loses Internet connection. I reset it following the instructions, but this has happened at least 4 times now. The help pages mention about checking Internet signal, electric etc etc. Nothing else loses connection, the door bell is further away than the chime and no problems, plus other devices that we have. So none of the help pages really assist with this problem. All other possibilities have been checked and im thinking that following on from the last update that ring performed has a the problem and caused issues with the unit.
